Aphrodite Jones believes that the media wanted Michael Jackson convicted in the court of public opinion so that he would go to prison. She also believes that the media had the most to gain in a guilty verdict in the form of ratings and print publications.
In 1994 Michael Jackson settled a lawsuit brought about by a child accusing him of sexual molestation for several million dollars. Because of that settlement, four other accusers came forward and made Jackson a target.
Jones covered Michael Jackson's molestation trial in 2005 in California for Fox News. After the 2005 trial was over, she went back to the Santa Maria courthouse to view the evidence for herself.
