Outrageous: Child Abuse Caught On Tape

A Jacksonville baby-sitter has been arrested after the parents of a child called police with a video of a woman slapping the child and striking him in the head with a ball so hard it knocked him on his back.

According to FindArticles.Com, Jeannine Marie Campbell, 53, of the 4900 block of Ferrell Lane, was charged with felony battery of a child, according to a jail record. She was being held Thursday in lieu of $75,003 in bail.


The father of the 11-month-old boy child told WJXT TV-4 that the family installed a secret camera because they were concerned about the care the child was getting. They dismissed Campbell, then watched the tape recorded Tuesday that was shown on WJXT.


The boy's father said Campbell had been baby-sitting for the family for more than two years.
